The north side of Loch Ness

Abriachan Forest. Purchased by the local community in 1998, these woodlands, high above Loch Ness, cover 534 hectares of planted conifers, native broadleaves and naturally regenerating open hill. Of interest at any time of year, way marked footpaths, mountain bike trails of various levels of difficulty and bird watching. Black grouse inhabit the moor land and natural woodland fringes and see the superb views over Loch Ness and to Glen Affric hills. See the delightful Dhivach Falls set in ancient oak woods. Just a two hours return walk from Drumnadrochit village centre, then catch the bus to Balnain and your back at Glenurquhart House in good time for your evening meal. A superb day visit out and enjoyment for all the family.

Real Hospitality in the Heart of the Scottish Highlands.
